The Department of English and German Studies was founded in 1991 and offers the following degrees at undergraduate and postgraduate levels:
Degree in English Studies (4-year programme in Language & Linguistics, Literature & Cultural Studies)
Masters degree in Translation Studies.
Doctoral degree in Translation Studies.
Doctoral degree in Literature and Cultural Studies.
Apart from the above, the Department also offers a wide variety of modules in other faculties of the URV, for example, in the Sciences, in Tourism, Psychology, Pedagogy and Enology (wine making!)
The thirty members of the teaching staff represent six different nationalities and are actively involved in national and international research groups. The two research groups within the department are:
T-CLAA (Change and diversity in German and English literatures and cultures)
ISG (International Studies Group)
The DFAG also organizes extramural and interdisciplinary seminars, conferences and congresses. All these events will contribute towards making your stay at the university more interesting and enrichening.
